Ryan's Wish Story

Ryan Compton

Ryan was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia on 3/3/07 at the age of 22 months.  At his diagnosis he embarked on a 3.5 year long course of consecutive chemotherapy, which he finished on 7/3/10.  Ten days later Ryan was diagnosed with Relapsed Leukemia.  He continued to be treated as a very high risk and on November 16, 2010 Ryan underwent a bone marrow transplant.  Ryan’s love for airplanes and Disney Characters led the Make-A-Wish Foundation, with support from “Give Kids The Word”, to organize a week long Disneyworld adventure for Ryan, his mom Maggie, his dad Jason, sisters Jasmine & Teresa & brother Nick.

The bone marrow transplant that Ryan received in 2010 was truly a gift of life. We are extremely happy to say that at seven years of age, Ryan is now off all meds and is doing incredibly well!!
